Nemška zasedba Paradox se vrača z napovedjo novega albuma Mysterium. Album naj bi izšel še letos pri založbi AFM Records, točen datum izida pa še ni znan. Spodaj pa si lahko preberete izjavo Charlyja Steinhauerja:

»Friends and fans,
I had a dream. I wanted to start together with AXEL BLAHA, with whom I founded PARADOX in 1981, and end together again at some point. Unfortunately, that is no longer possible because he has said goodbye to this world.
In all these years, AXEL was the only musician who worked with me the way you have to, to achieve a goal. We never danced around at multiple weddings and were always loyal to one band. PARADOX! This was the only way the two classics “PRODUCT OF IMAGINATION” and “HERESY” were possible.
I miss him very much and it is very difficult for me to move on without him, but anyone who knows me knows that giving up is not an option for me.
Not even after 43 years and that's why I can tell you, that I have composed a new PARADOX album, which will hopefully be released worldwide this year via AFM RECORDS. The album will be called “MYSTERIUM” and will contain all the trademarks a Paradox fan wants.
The special thing about “MYSTERIUM” is that I composed all the songs and played all the instruments myself, because I will never again work with project-hungry musician whores who play a few notes on an album but otherwise have nothing to do with PARADOX, or none maintain contact with his colleagues. Unfortunately, this runs like a common thread through the entire career and is the main reason why PARADOX was never able to really get off the ground. To do this you need musicians who work together and pursue a common goal.
It should also be a warning to all young musicians and new bands who want to achieve something with their band. You can find out more about this in the numerous interviews for the new album. You should definitely read this!
I will also be responsible for the mix and the entire production.
The lyrics are written by ACHIM “DAXX” HOEMERLEIN (ex-Vendetta), who also wrote the lyrics for “TALES OF THE WEIRD” and “PANGEA”.
TRAVIS SMITH (Opeth/Nevermore etc) is currently working on the artwork.
“MYSTERIUM” is a very heavy album and contains 10 songs with a playing time of 51 minutes. Dedicated to AXEL BLAHA, my best friend and co-founder of PARADOX!

Italijanska crossover zasedba Methedrine je podpisala s Time To Kill Records, kjer bo 19. januarja izšel njihov debitanski studijski album No Solution, No Salvation. Tukaj že lahko prisluhnete prvemu singlu A Massgrave for my Dreams.

Kanadski thrasherji Vantablack Warship so priredili božično pesem All I Want For Christmas (Is My Two Front Teeth), ki je del kompilacije Noël In Extremis II.

Band je sicer aprila letos izdal svoj drugi album Last of the Hardmouthed Poets.

Danski progresivni metalci Advocacy so objavili spot za svoj nov single Star Formation. Njihov nov plošček The Path Of Decoherence bo izšel 18. januarja pri Uprising! Records.

Metal kraljica Doro, ki je prejšnji teden izdala album Conqueress - Forever Strong and Proud, predstavlja video za komad Total Eclipse Of My Heart. Pri izvedbi priredbe, ki jo v originalu izvaja Bonnie Taylor, je sodeloval Rob Halford, prvi glas metala in frontman zasedbe Judas Priest.

Angleški melanholični doom metal dvojec Suicide Season je podpisal za založbo Alone Records. Več informacij o razkritem sodelovanju sledi.

Sicer pa: zasedbo sestavljata Bruno Silva (Heavenwood) in Nuno Lima (Secrecy, Dementia 13), njuna glasba pa naj bi nagovorila vse ljubitelje bandov, kot so My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost, Saturnus, Anathema, Edge Of Sanity in Shape Of Despair.

Domači post/progresivni metal band Hei’An je prišel v ožji izbor za nominacijo za glasbeno nagrado grammy. S skladbo noises se poteguje za nominacijo v kategoriji za najboljšo metal izvedbo (Best Metal Performance), z albumom imago pa za najboljši rock album (Best Rock Album).

Na izbor za grammyja jih je prijavil producent Randy Slaugh, s katerim so sodelovali pri prvencu imago in pred nedavnim izdanem EP-ju Live at EastWest Studios.

Matic Dominko je prekmurski filmski režiser in študent filmske in televizijske režije na AGRFT, ki predstavlja dokumentarni film z naslovom SMRT. Kratki dokumentarni portret o spiritualnem death metal bandu iz Turnišča se po besedah režiserja »fokusira na osebnost/družinsko življenje članov banda in na skupinsko energijo, ki jih med seboj povezuje. Namen filma je pokazati kontrast med tem, kako metalci predstavljajo sebe na odru in med tem, kakšni srčki so v resnici.«

Film se naslednji teden poteguje za Vesno, najvišjo možno slovensko filmsko nagrado za najboljši študijski film na Festivalu slovenskega filma, ki se bo med 3. in 8. oktobrom odvijal v Portorožu. Premierna projekcija filma na festivalu bo v soboto, 7. 10. 2023, ob 15. uri v Razstavišču Monfort v Portorožu. Vabljeni!

Veljaki norveškega black metala Satyricon sporočajo, da se po petih letih zatišja naslednje leto končno vračajo na koncertne odre. Poleg koncertnih aktivnosti, ki bodo sicer osredotočene na festivale širom Evrope, zasedba že pripravlja material za novo ploščo, ki bo nasledil zadnjo izdajo Satyricon & Munch.
